JAKARTA - Ahead of its launch tomorrow, reliable leaker Max Weinbach shares some interesting details about the iPhone 12. Including battery capacity and new features embedded in the iPhone 12 camera.

Quoting Macrumors , Tuesday, October 12, via Twitter account @PineLeaks, Weinbach reported that the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max variants will get a slight increase in battery life which is approximately one hour longer than the previous generation.

Weinbach claims that this battery upgrade is only for the Pro model. On the other hand, on the note, the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini could have a worse battery life than the iPhone 11, due to its smaller body factor. This means that Apple may not be able to fit in as big a battery as they want.

Others, rumors today suggest that a feature called "dynamic zoning algorithm" will be shipped in the iPhone 12 lineup. This feature is said to improve Face ID performance.

For the iPhone 12 mini, the phone is claimed to come with a smaller notch horizontally, but slightly larger vertically to make room for the Face ID sensor.

Weinbach also reported that the camera on the iPhone 12 will be upgraded in digital and optical zoom capabilities. This rumor exists after leaker Kang stated that the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will have 4x and 5x zoom capabilities.

"The enhanced digital zoom will be achieved by combining multiple frames at different zoom levels and stacking them together, this will result in a combination of cropping and optical zoom," said Kang.

Kang added, later an algorithm based on Deep Fusion will handle correct alignment and sharpening. The rest is handled by the Smart HDR 3 capability.

Apart from Weinbach, Apple is reportedly also adding an Ultra Wide lens to its iPhone 12 lineup, which is sure to have the camera on this phone getting a 35 percent larger aperture, allowing for an increase in overall low light performance.

The report indicates that portrait mode capabilities for video recording have also been developed. However, theoretically these capabilities could also be added in the upcoming iOS 14 update. iPhone 12 will also support 4K resolution videos at 120fps and 4K at 240fps.
