JAKARTA - Wednesday, April 13, Senior Producer at Niantic, Ziah Fogel shared details about a new Niantic game that is currently in development and will soon enter the soft launch testing phase in select markets.
Niantic is well known for making Augmented Reality (AR) games based on existing franchises, but the next title will be a brand new, original title. Peridot is an AR mobile game where you will have to breed and care for a unique virtual pet.
The simple act of caring for animals and watching them grow can be very rewarding, especially when you have formed a real bond with your pet.
"After thousands of years of slumber, the Peridots (or Dots for short) wake up in a world very different from the one they are used to exploring, and they will need our help to protect them from extinction," Ziah said in a blog post.
Players will feed, play and explore with their Dots to raise them to adulthood. When you walk your pet every day, your Dot may find hidden treasures.
Then, you can also diversify your Point species by cooperating with other players. “We hope you are excited for this heartwarming new game. During the initial launch period, we will be testing and iterating over the game experience as we gather feedback from our beta testers."
