JAKARTA - CD Projekt RED has decided to postpone the update of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt indefinitely. The news was confirmed by the developer on Wednesday, April 13 through his Twitter account.

“We have decided to have our in-house development team do the remaining work on the next-generation version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We are currently evaluating the scope of work to be done and as such had to postpone the Q2 release until further notice."

The Wild Hunt update was originally scheduled to arrive in the second quarter, that is, before the end of this June. This update will refresh 2015-era games for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC with ray-traced lighting, faster load times, and possibly other features that take advantage of modern hardware.

This next-generation update will be a "Complete Edition" with expansions and other content, including material inspired by Netflix's Witcher series.

“We will update you as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding," the statement concluded.

Based on the latest information, The Witcher 4 franchise will use Unreal Engine 5. While CD Projekt's Quest Director, Pawel Sasko said that his team is actively working on the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion.
