JAKARTA – The non-fungible token (NFT) in the form of the first tweet of the founder of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, is offered at a pretty fantastic price. The NFT is currently valued at IDR 689.17 billion on the world's number one NFT trading platform OpenSea.

Jack Dorsey sold the first tweet of his Twitter account in March for IDR 41.63 billion. That number rose more than tenfold this April. At the previous auction, Dorsey's first tweet was sold to Bridge Oricle CEO Sina Estavi as the winning bidder.

Dorsey's historic tweet that reads “just setting up my twttr” was posted in March 2006. The former Twitter CEO announced that he would donate the income he received from the sale to charity once it was converted into Bitcoin.

Sina Estavi is now willing to sell the NFT at 14,969 Ether or IDR 689.17 billion. He has also promised that half of the auction proceeds will be donated to charity. However, Dorsey seems to want the owner of his first tweet to donate 99 percent of his sales. He said this when he replied to a tweet from Estavi.

Reporting from U.Today, Dorsey has been a staunch supporter of the cryptocurrency space for years, primarily focusing on Bitcoin and not shying away from showing his disdain for altcoins.

Dorsey's digital and financial services company Block (formerly Square) bought Bitcoin worth IDR 2.4 trillion in February. Earlier in January, the company announced it would build an open Bitcoin mining system.

Dorsey himself reportedly stepped down as CEO of Twitter in November last year to focus more on his cryptocurrency ambitions. After his departure, the social media platform bearing the blue bird is more open to embracing alternative cryptocurrencies. Twitter allows users to tip creators with Ethereum. That's after the social media added support for hexagonal NFT avatars
