JAKARTA - Spotify is now giving users even more control over collaborative playlists in its app. Previously, the company did not allow other users to control contributions and view the playlist creator's work.

The Swedish streaming service is currently adding a new level of control to the playlist feature, allowing users to keep a closer eye on who has access to playlists.

It also includes the ability to share collaborative mixes with large public groups or keep them private.

First, Spotify will give playlist creators the ability to invite or remove users from collaborations.

In addition, users can also manage collaborative playlists privately, so that no one can listen to, search for, or view those playlists except those who have been granted access.

That way, users can add or remove who can work on the playlist and who can follow it at any time. Spotify says all the new controls will roll out starting this week.

Quoting Engadget, Wednesday, March 16, the expanded controls for collaborative playlists follow the addition of Spotify's unblock feature last November.

Previously, users could block artists so they wouldn't appear in the app, but blocking other users had to send a request to customer service.

Anyone blocked will no longer be able to access the user's pages, playlists publicly, or view listening activity.
