PlayStation Suspends All Software And Hardware Shipments To Russia

JAKARTA - Sony Interactive Entertainment, the Sony branch that manages the PlayStation console, has finally stopped all shipments of software and hardware to Russia due to the country's invasion of Ukraine.

"Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) joins the global community in calling for peace in Ukraine," PlayStation wrote in a statement on Instagram, Thursday, March 10.

"We have suspended all software and hardware shipments, the launch of Gran Turismo 7, and the operation of the PlayStation Store in Russia," he added.

They also added that Sony Group Corporation had donated $2 million or around Rp. 28 billion to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and an international NGO, Save the Children, to support the victims of this tragedy.

In a separate post, Bungie, which is in the process of being acquired by Sony, said it was working to suspend all sales and distribution of Destiny 2 in Russia and Belarus.

"Starting today, we will work closely with our partners to suspend all sales and trading of Destiny 2 in Russia and Belarus," Bungie wrote on Twitter.

Players in these countries can continue to access previously purchased content or download the free version, but new purchases are currently on hold.

This is also the release of the free in-game " Cоняшник " emblem for players to show their support for Ukraine, with the code for it coming out in its weekly messages.

Bungie also said last week the Bungie Foundation committed to donating 100 percent of the proceeds from the first 48 hours of their Game2Give charity initiative directly to humanitarian aid organizations in an effort to help people affected by this war. They managed to collect 120,000 dollars or Rp. 1.6 billion.
