Jens Stoltenberg Refuses To Raise NATO Nuclear Forces Alert Level

JAKARTA - NATO Secretary-General, Jens Stoltenberg, recently stated that his party would not increase the alert level of NATO's nuclear forces. This is NATO's response to President Vladimir Putin alerting its nuclear forces.

Stoltenberg made this statement after meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda. The two met at an airbase in Lask, where F-15 and F-16 fighter jets are stored.

"We will always do what is necessary to protect and defend our allies, but we think there is no need now to change the alert level of NATO's nuclear forces", Stoltenberg said.

Reported from RussiaToday, Moscow announced on Monday that its land, air, and naval nuclear forces were placed on high alert following the proposed Western negotiations over its military strike in Ukraine.

On Monday, February 28, the delegations of the two countries met at the Belarusian border to carry out negotiations. Another round of talks is underway. Previously, Putin rejected any Western intervention in his dealings in the invasion of Ukraine.

The NATO secretary-general declared a "terrible and terrible invasion" of Ukraine. Stoltenberg stressed, "the brutality must stop immediately." Following the statement, the US sent an additional 5,000 troops to Poland and Romania. Not only that, but France also reportedly sent troops to Romania.

NATO itself does not want the conflict in Ukraine to spiral out of control, “and become a full-fledged confrontation between NATO and Russia in Europe.” The NATO leader insisted the parties concerned were able to maintain contact and end the conflict with Russia.
