This Month, Dogecoin And Shiba Inu Can Buy Tickets For AMC Theaters Worldwide

JAKARTA – Crypto memes Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) will soon be available for ticket payments at the world's largest cinema chain, AMC Theatres. AMC Theaters will start accepting DOGE and SHIB this March.

The announcement was made directly by the CEO of AMC Entertainment Holdings, Adam Aron through his Twitter tweet on Monday, March 1, 2022.

Reported by Bitcoin.com News, AMC Entertainment aka AMC Theatres, is the largest film exhibition company in the US, Europe, and the world. The company owns or operates approximately 950 cinemas and 10,500 screens worldwide.

Aron explained that the IT department at AMC Theaters said that “Bitpay will go live for AMC online payments” on March 19 and live on the company's mobile app on April 16 or a few days earlier.

The CEO has promised the crypto community that AMC Theaters will accept DOGE and SHIB payments since he posted a Twitter poll about Dogecoin in September last year and a shiba inu poll the following month.

Aron later claimed in November last year that he convinced crypto payment service provider Bitpay to support shiba inu. He also said that he would be the first Bitpay client to accept SHIB.

However, when Bitpay started supporting Shiba Inu in November, retail giant Newegg quickly started accepting SHIBs for payments.

Aron also announced last year that AMC Theaters began accepting four cryptocurrencies namely Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin cash (BCH). However, customers can only pay with this cryptocurrency through their Paypal account.
