Lenovo Challenges Asus ROG Through Legion Gaming Phone

JAKARTA - Lenovo seems to want to follow in the footsteps of its competitor Asus in building its gaming ecosystem, namely the Republic of Gamers (ROG). Through the Legion gaming laptop line, Lenovo wants to try its luck.

Not only laptops, Lenovo is also reportedly preparing a line of gaming phones under the Legion sub brand . This information emerged from the appearance of the official Twitter account for the Legion smartphone on the Weibo social media network, which Lenovo recently created.

Launching from Gizchina , Sunday, December 29, this Lenovo sub-brand will focus on their gaming products ranging from laptops to Legion Gaming Phones . This news was also reinforced by a statement from the General Manager of the Lenovo Department, Chen Jin in an interview in China.

Chen said, Legion Gaming Phone will rely on the company's years of experience in the field of esports , R&D , the number of loyal users, and qualified resources to conquer the mobile gaming segment.

"The Legion Gaming Phone will carry high-end hardware, so that it can compete with other gaming phones that appear earlier such as the Black Shark owned by Xiaomi, Asus ROG, and the Razer Phone," he said.

Even though it has presented its official account, Lenovo has not confirmed what kind of smartphone will be presented. However, like a gaming cellphone, it can be predicted that the Legion cellphone will also be equipped with various special game features.

In July 2019, Lenovo was rumored to be working on smartphones with Snapdragon 855 Plus processors and Snapdragon 865. Most likely, if these phones will become a product line of the Legion Gaming Phone. If true, it is expected that this line of Lenovo gaming phones will be present in the first quarter of next year, or between January and March 2020.

In Indonesia alone, Asus and Black Shark recently announced the presence of their latest generation of special gaming phones. The phones include ROG Phone 2 and Black Shark 2 or Black Shark 2 Pro.
