14 Indonesian Teams And A Tracking Dog Search 8 Victims Of The Turkish Earthquake Still Lost In Hatay

ANTAKYA A total of 14 INASAR personnel were deployed to return to search for victims of the M7.8 earthquake in Tukir. The point of operation is in sector R or the electric region in Antakya, Hatay Province, Turkey.

INASAR Team Leader Yopi Hariyadi said the personnel who are members of Team Charlie are supported by a sniffer dog in the K-9 category. Information from officers in sector R shows that eight people are still missing.

"They are expected to be in several buildings," said Yopi at the base of operation (Boo), Hatay Expo, Friday, February 17.

At the location of the search for heavy equipment, the excavator helped carry out the demolition of the debris but with due observance of the search operation.

"We used the K-9 to search one of the buildings," Yopi added.

A few hours later, the team shifted to another location. According to information at the time, there were 3 residents who were declared to be in the rubble of the building. However, the search has not yielded any results. They operate in areas affected by the ruins of the building for approximately 9 hours.

Previously, the Alfa Team was deployed in advance to carry out operations in the Diyarbakir area, or 8 hours of land travel from the BoO. The search was focused on the search for the 2 missing Indonesian citizens. This team returned to the INASAR post at 09.35 local time today, Friday (17/2).

"A total of 14 INASAR Alfa Team personnel and 1 K-9 dog returned to the base of operation from the Diyarbakir area," he said.
