Allegedly Hina NU, Gus Nur Policized

JAKARTA - The preacher Sugi Nur Raharja alias Gus Nur was reported by the Chairman of the Cirebon Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Azis Hakim to the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit. Gus Nur was reported on suspicion of insulting the NU institution.

Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division Brig. Gen. Awi Setiyono, confirmed the report. The reporting is registered under the number LP / B / 02596 / X / 2020 / Bareskrim dated October 21, 2020.

"In essence, it's still a process, (the report) is still at the Police Robinops (Operations Development Bureau)," Awi told reporters, Thursday, October 22.

In the near future, the report will immediately be submitted to the Directorate of Cyber Crimes. From there, investigators will immediately carry out investigative steps.

"Later it will be distributed to the Directorate of Cyber Crime, Bareskrim, still in process," he said.

Gus Nur was reported under Article 27 paragraph (3) and Article 28 paragraph (2) of Law Number (UU) 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE). Gus Nur is considered to have harassed NU and a number of its figures on the Youtube channel.

Gus Nur said that the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) is currently likened to a public bus whose driver is drunk, the conductor is drunk, the kernet is reckless, and the passengers are insolent so that the sanctity of NU is no longer present.

For this reason, Gus Nur is considered to have disseminated information that gave rise to utterances of hatred or hostility towards certain individuals and groups of people based on ethnicity, religion, race and intergroup (SARA).
