JAKARTA - Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman urged the Director of Gratification of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to reject reports of receipt of accommodation and MotoGP tickets if KPK Deputy Chair Lili Pintauli reports.

He said this kind of effort could be seen as a measure to save himself. Because, at this time, the KPK Supervisory Board is conducting an investigation into the alleged ethical violation related to the receipt.

"If there is a gratuity report after the process at the KPK Supervisory Board, then this gratification report can be considered as forced," said Boyamin in his written statement to reporters quoted on Tuesday, April 19.

According to Boyamin, if Lili did not intend to accept from the start, she should have immediately reported it to the Gratification Directorate. Not only that, he can also refuse when given facilities by PT Pertamina (Persero).

"LPS should have refused the provision of these facilities or as the head of the KPK then a day later immediately report the gratification without having to wait for the report at the KPK Council," he said.

Boyamin hopes that the KPK Supervisory Board can immediately investigate the alleged ethical violations committed by Lili in order to maintain the authority of the KPK. This is because the longer the investigation into the alleged receipt of gratuities drags on, the work on eradicating corruption will be increasingly hampered.

Meanwhile, as the provider, PT Pertamina (Persero) is asked to provide complete information to the KPK Supervisory Board. Moreover, it is suspected that the invitation was not officially conveyed through the KPK Secretariat.

"MAKI asks the KPK Council to immediately try the case of alleged violation of the code of ethics because the protracted case will further reduce the authority of the KPK, which in turn hinders the work of the KPK," said the anti-corruption activist.

It was previously reported that Lili was suspected of receiving gratuities in the form of hotel accommodations and tickets to watch the Mandalika MotoGP from a state-owned company which was later named as a member of the KPK Supervisory Board, Syamsuddin Haris, namely PT Pertamina (Persero).

This complaint was then followed up by the KPK Council by asking for clarification from a number of parties. In addition, Tumpak Hatorangan et al have asked related parties to bring proof of booking accommodation at Amber Lombok Beach Resort and Mandalika MotoGP tickets at the Grandstand Premium Zone A-Red.

This is not the first time this complaint has been made against Lili. On August 30, 2021, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) Council stated that Lili was proven to have violated the code of ethics and code of conduct, so she was sentenced to severe sanctions.

He was found guilty of violating the code of ethics and behavioral guidelines in the form of abuse of influence as a KPK leader for personal interests and dealing directly with the party whose case is being handled by the KPK, namely the Mayor of Tanjungbalai M Syahrial.

For her actions, Lili was given a severe sanction in the form of cutting her basic salary by 40 percent for 12 months or Rp. 1,848 million.
