NTT Bawaslu Proposes 2024 Regional Election Budget Of IDR 376.3 Billion

KUPANG - The General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of East Nusa Tenggara Province proposed a budget for the 2024 Pilkada for the election of governors and deputy governors in NTT of IDR 376.3 billion to the local provincial government.

"The budget that we propose is to support various needs for supervision of the NTT governor-deputy governor election scheduled for November 27, 2024," said NTT Bawaslu Chairman Thomas Djawa in a statement received in Kupang, reported by Antara, Thursday, April 14.

He said that the Rp376.3 billion budget proposal was guided by the regulation on the 2020 simultaneous regional elections so that it was not final.

"The budget can be increased or decreased, when various adjustments are made in accordance with the latest regulations going forward," he said.

He explained that if the simultaneous regional elections were to be held on November 27, 2024, then the pilkada stages had to start 12 months before the implementation.

All preparations, including assistance, have to start in June 2023 so that the Regional Grant Agreement (NPHD) must be signed by the regional government and election organizers no later than October 2023. in Bawaslu nothing is different.

"So there will be budget sharing between provincial and district/city grant funds," he said.

He added that the local governments of 22 regencies/cities had submitted a request for a joint coordination meeting to be held soon because the implementation of the pilkada stages was carried out simultaneously.

"Therefore, all parties can have a common understanding regarding budget needs and for the benefit of sharing the post-assistance budget," he said.
