The City Of Bandung Needs A 2024 Election Budget Of IDR 165 Billion

JAKARTA - The City Government (Pemkot) of Bandung, West Java, has begun to prepare a budget for the 2024 General Election (Pemilu). The funds needed for the democratic party in Bandung are around Rp. 165 billion.

The Acting Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, said the budget consisted of a budget for the operations of the General Election Commission (KPU) of Bandung City and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of Bandung City.

"The KPU's budget is around Rp. 100 billion and that of Bawaslu is around Rp. 65 billion, that's purely from the APBD (Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget)," Yana said in Bandung, Monday.

According to him, the budget will be distributed to the two institutions in two terms so that the costs for political performances will be included in the 2023 budget.

"We will probably budget around Rp. 30 billion first in 2023 because it is very likely that the 2024 budget will be for honorariums for election officials," he said, quoted from Antara.

Yana said that the budget for the previous year (2023) was carried out so that there would be no budget swelling in 2024. He ensured that the Bandung City Government had prepared the budget.

"Because the need is more in 2024, but so that it's not too heavy, we have reserved in 2023," said Yana.

The Bandung City KPU requires 7,450 polling stations (TPS) in the presidential and vice presidential elections, members of the DPR, Provincial DPRD, Regency/Municipal DPRD as well as DPD members on February 14, 2024.

Meanwhile, for the simultaneous regional head elections (pilkada) to be held on 27 November 2024, the Bandung City KPU requires 5,439 TPS. In addition, the Bandung City KPU requires 52,150 election officers, while in the 2024 Pilkada it requires 38,073 officers.
