Passing Various Road Characteristics, AION Proves The Resilience Of The Y Plus Model At IKN

JAKARTA - AION Indonesia is again expanding in the country by expanding its dealer network to Borneo Island, as the initial stage of Banjarmasin and Balikpapan as the location for the first dealer in the region.

The move also reflects that this brand from China brings its best electric vehicle technology closer to various parts of Indonesia, including strategic areas.

"In accordance with the AION mission, we will continue to expand into big cities in Indonesia. Our dealer in Kalimantan is one proof that AION is serious about entering the Indonesian automotive market and supporting the government's program to reduce exhaust emissions through the use of electric vehicles," said AION Indonesia CEO Andry Ciu, in an official statement received on Wednesday, December 11.

Not only the opening of a new dealer network, AION is also trying to understand the characteristics of the Kalimantan region which has unique topolography, dominated by mountains and hills. This effort is realized through direct testing of electric vehicles in various fields as a form of AION's responsibility to ensure their technology can adapt to local needs. One form of testing is to travel using AION Y Plus from Balikpapan to the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN).

The route to IKN is via the 100 km Sepaku land route which takes about two to three hours, depending on road conditions and weather.

The journey starts from Balikpapan, this route passes through the main road to Sepaku District, Bukit Suharto to North Penajam Paser Regency, which is part of the IKN area. Along the way, the AION team crossed various road characteristics, ranging from hilly asphalt sections to areas that are still under construction and repair.

By traveling from Balikpapan to IKN, AION Y Plus has proven its toughness in hilly Kalimantan fields. The interior is designed broadly and versatilely, allowing seats to be folded into king-size-sized beds, making it ideal for personal and family use.

With 100 kW of power and 225 Nm of torque, this car is powered by Magazine Battery 2.0 which has been tested for safety, providing a cruising range of 410 km to 490 km in one charge.
