In the perspective of the owner of the homecoming, the two types of cars, namely Pajero and Fortuner, have significant advantages. This was revealed from the results of the VOI team's interview with the two car owners. Incidentally, both of them have diesel cars with 4X2 (2WD) driving wheels.

"My first car was a Honda Jazz, bought it in 2011. When I bought it there was no desire to go home. Now, because I was tempted by a friend convoy invitation, I was finally brought back to Bukittinggi. Yes, so I feel sorry for the car," said Daniel (40) who works as Finance Manager of a private company in Jakarta.

Daniel also said that with the absence of the Sumatra Cross-Toll Road, they took the Sumatra Central Cross route which was more passed by travelers. It turns out that the condition of the road has a lot of potholes. The trip was blocked a lot, especially when it rained the hole was not visible.

"Well, at that time it was only felt, I saw large cars such as Pajero, Fortuner, let alone Land Cruisers playing poorly. Big cars are also useful when cutting trucks or buses so we can follow them from behind, yes because the power is large," he told VOI, Saturday, April 1.

From this experience, he realized that large cars such as Pajero, Fortuner, and Land Cruiser have advantages in dealing with roads in such conditions. Therefore, two years later he decided to replace his car with Pajero Sport Dakar 4x2, and in 2022, he upgraded again to the latest Pajero Sport Dakar 4x2.

"For urban areas like Jakarta, the benefits of Pajero's own are not so much felt. It's different if you take it long distances like going home, apart from high cars, the lights are also bright, the energy can also be relied on, especially the newer Pajero," he explained.

Furthermore, he also felt that the use of fuel when used long distances was also more efficient.

"Last year (2022) was the most chaotic homecoming. At 8 pm we were hit by traffic jams on the 10 km toll road before boarding the ship. Even though boarding the ship could only be tomorrow at 12 pm. I checked that the fuel was only slightly reduced even though the engine and ac were on," he explained.

Daniel claims the distance from his residence in Jakarta to his hometown is almost 1,500 km.

"Look at Google Maps that much. With that distance, the expenditure for fuel is less than Rp. 1 million. But during homecoming, many owners of Pajero destinations are further apart, such as Medan, Siantar to Banda Aceh," he concluded.

Meanwhile, not much different, Pak Afian (60) expressed his reasons for being interested in owning Fortuner because of the power of the machine and the comfort of being used for long-distance driving.

"Starting trying to have friends so I want to have Fortuner, it turns out that it is very comfortable to use. And to go home, especially to my wife's area in Banyuwangi, it's really comfortable," I retired this Pertamina employee to VOI, Sunday, April 2.

He also continued, the consumption of Toyota fortuner diesel fuel is more efficient than the type of gasoline engine.

"For New Fortuner, it's faster and more stable than before, especially when used on toll roads, you can't realize that the speed is just that fast, so you have to look at the speedometer often if you can't do that danger," he said.
