The Story Behind The Emergence Of Maliq & D Essentials At The Coldplay Concert

JAKARTA - Angga Puradiredja told how the Maliq & D Essentials suddenly appeared at the Coldplay concert and performed the song Senja Teduh Pelita.

The incident began with Chris Martin's request to gather with musicians from Warner Music Indonesia on Monday, November 13.

"We also didn't expect it. So, at first, we labeled Coldplay with Warner Music, so there was a gathering that Chris Martin asked the label, Warner in Indonesia, to meet people, with musicians," said Angga Puradiredja at BSD, South Tangerang, Saturday, November 18.

"So, at first on Monday we met, it's really secret gathering, no (there are outsiders who know), yes really secret," he continued.

The experience of meeting Coldplay personnel for the first time was considered by Angga very positive. He sees Chris Martin as a very friendly figure.

From that meeting, Chris Martin actually asked for a meeting again on Tuesday, November 14. The vocalist asked for a workshop with musicians from Warner Music Indonesia.

"Yes, maybe, the chemistry is quite good. Maybe he feels like it's the same as the others, so he asks to do another kind of music workshop, a kind of hearing session, that's the next day, on Tuesday," said Angga.

Maliq & D Essentials also performed one of their flagship songs, Senja Teduh Pelita. Apparently, Chris Martin felt compatible with them.

"Finally, at one point, we performed Senja Teduh Pelita's song. She immediately went to the piano, she tested the chord. She said, "This fits the effort with the song airing", she said that. Then, we immediately got involved, "Let's do it on your stage" I said that. He suddenly looked up, "Ok, let's do it!," concluded Angga Puradiredja.
