JAKARTA - As a form of support for the creations of the nation's children from various fields, Bagasi continues to provide appreciation and space for expression through the #EkspedisiKreasi project, which this year has the theme Art and Music.

“#EkspedisiKreasi is a Bagasi movement to collaborate with communities in Indonesia. Currently, #EkspedisiKreasi carries the theme Art and Music. What's special about ##EkspedisiKreasi this time is because there is art from Ruth Marbun and music from Fourtwnty," said Marceline Widjaja, Creative and Communication Director of Bagasi in her statement.

Throughout 2023, Bagasi has collaborated with various artists and communities in the fields of music and art through the #EkspedisiKreasi program. Starting from White Shoes & The Couples Company, Hindia, Feast, Alphabad, to Binatang Press. To close 2023 and #EkspedisiKreasi season 1 sweetly, Bagasi collaborated with Fourtwnty and Ruth Marbun. This warm collaboration is entitled Reasons in Luggage and the products are one Stupa cabin suitcase and one Journal Book.

When Ari Lesmana, vocalist of Fourtwnty, opened the album Nalar with the lyrics: "In the end, what I loved turned into trauma. I love my trauma," Bagasi was moved to become a companion for friends who were struggling. Want to be a friend in the journey of making peace with yourself. Nalar itself is Fourtwnty's third album which was released in April 2023. This album, which contains 10 songs, has a theme about the realities of life. A work presented by Fourtwnty for anyone who needs calm from the chaos of human problems.

"Nalar tells about personal experiences, the experiences of the people around you. It's a little different from previous albums, maybe you could say it's a bit of a strange album. And, this could be our newest favorite baby," said Ari Lesmana, vocalist of Fourtwnty.

Fourtwnty was formed in 2010 with the alternative pop genre consisting of members Ari Lesmana (vocals), Nuwi (guitar), Andi Armand (synthesiser), Primanda Ridho (percussion), and Ryan Maulana (bass). The birth of the Nalar album was also celebrated in a series of Fourtwnty tours in three countries, namely Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

Through Reason in Bagasi, Bagasi also wants to act as a friend who can be a shelter. Like Ruth Marbun's work on the Stupa suitcase from Bagasi, namely "Stand aside, open your eyes, look for meaning. The house." Ruth was chosen by Fourtwnty to put the 'finishing touches' on the cover of Nalar because Ari Lesmana fell in love with excerpts of words that Ruth embedded in some of her work.

"That sentence is one of Fourtwnty's lyrics in (the song) 'Rocking Chair', it is also on one of the sleeves of the Nalar album. I think it's fitting for this suitcase with Luggage because actually the more you travel, the more you remember home. Because that distance sometimes makes us appreciate it (home) more," said Ruth Marbun, who is familiarly called Utay.

Ruth is a visual artist living in Jakarta and started her career in fashion before turning to visual art. Ruth is passionate about the connectivity between humans and their surrounding environment, the human ability to adapt and survive. Her works have been displayed in Jakarta, Jogjakarta, Singapore and Australia.

Koper Stupa itself is inspired by the beauty of Borobudur Temple, its shape displays strength and harmony, telling the story of the splendor of a work. It is very appropriate to describe the collaboration between these two reliable artists. It is hoped that this Journal Book Dari Nalar Di Bagasi can accompany the journey of those who are struggling to find a bright spot, as well as being a 'place to vent' on every journey.

“Bagasi's collaboration with the album Nalar from Fourtwnty and Ruth Marbun is a form of the spirit of #EkspedisiKreasi. A collaborative work that depicts the journey to reach a bright spot, representing the figure of people who want to grow together and can be a shelter. We hope that the spirit and values of #EkspedisiKreasi can continue to be present in the following years, on future trips. The concept of the album Nalar is also the same as Bagasi in interpreting the journey, namely from the process, not just from the destination," explained Marceline.
