Coldplay Concert Prepares Statistical Bicycles As Electric Sources

JAKARTA - The Coldplay Music of The Spheres concert is not just a matter of the music stage. The English band also carries a mission to reduce the carbon footprint as much as possible from its concert.

A special Booth equipped with a static bicycle will be presented when Coldplay holds a concert at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Central Jakarta on November 15.

Similar to Coldplay Music of The Spheres concerts in other cities, visitors can use static bicycles that function as a source of electricity.

The audience will take static bicycles to produce electricity. The goal is to reduce carbon produced from conventional electrical energy.

"We also have a static bicycle that works the same way as the kinetic floor," said Chris Martin, Coldplay's vocalist when interviewed by the BBC in 2021.

The Music of The Spheres World Tour series is targeting to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 50 percent, compared to their last tour.

Based on information from Coldplay's official website, the sustainability program it is intensifying is working with various parties to reduce the impact and emissions it produces as much as possible.

"We have collaborated with DHL as an Official Logistics Partner touring to minimize emissions from transportation and transportation. As a leader in the field of transportation and sustainable logistics, DHL will support the tour by offering solutions to minimize emissions related to logistics and other environmental impacts, ranging from advanced biofuels in the air to electric vehicles on land," the statement read.
