JAKARTA - Ghost may be one of the most divisive actions among metal fans, but it is undeniable that the band will still exist.

And nothing can highlight this fact other than Mary On A Cross's continued popularity on social media apps like TikTok that really pushed the band to win its first platinum award in the US.

According to the American Recording Industry Association (RIAA), the song has reached at least one million sales and is the equivalent of streaming since its release four years ago.

Just a few months ago this song reached gold status, so it was originally shown on the band's EP Seven Inches of Satanic Panic, this song features a fictional version of the group from the late 60s.

What makes this whole situation crazy is the fact that the song got a lot of viewers through its use in various TikTok videos.

The metalheads, ABG (new big kids), even footballers finally started using the song in their clips, which eventually spread the song to new audiences. As a result, the song became completely nuclear last year.

So many people have listened to her, Mary On A Cross has truly become Spotify's most popular Ghost song with nearly 421 million listeners.

The next Ghost song in terms of Spotify streaming is not even close, where Square Hammer currently reaches nearly 159 million listeners.

To be honest, it's funny that a song that was so easy to ignore in 2019 has now become a very interesting song among normal people and younger metal fans.
