Ahead Of The Kahitna Concert, Yovie Widianto Remembers Carlo Saba's Figure

JAKARTA - For the first time, the Kahitna group will appear in a special event titled "Yovie Widianto: Billion Songs Confest" tonight, Wednesday, without the presence of one of their personnel, the late Carlo Saba.

The Kahitna group members then recalled the figure of the late Carlo Saba as a person who really cares about the progress of the group at all times, both in the world of music and during daily life.

"Carlo always encouraged Kahitna to make something for Indonesia. When he first founded Kahitna in high school, Carlo said, 'Yov, make songs like this, surely we can control Indonesia. Our band must be different from others'. I just laughed because typically I never thought about what tomorrow, "recalled Yovie Widianto during a media conference on the sidelines of practicing the concert "Yovie Widianto" Billion Songs Confest" in Jakarta, Monday, quoting Antara.

According to Yovie, the late Carlo Saba is very optimistic and believes that Kahitna can travel the world through her works. It turns out that this belief really materialized when the Kahitna group succeeded in crossing over to various continents around the world since it was first formed in 1986 until now.

"As long as Kahitna plays music, I almost don't know where it's wrong when appearing because the way we play music is just flowing. But Carlo often thinks that every time something is wrong and that's his positive side because he's so good," explained Yovie.

On that occasion Yovie also thought that he was very lucky to have the band Kahitna who barely had any meaningful dramas that often surround a music group's daily life.

"Band has been running with 9 people for 37 years. It is said that there has never been a fight, protests that arise in the form of affection. Everything is fine. Throughout my career, I gave birth to many bands, but nothing like Kahitna," said Yovie.

In Indonesia, he continued, a band with 4 or 5 personnel alone is very difficult to live in peace without a conflict that sometimes arises due to egos or financial problems. Surprisingly in the Kahitna group, Yovie admitted that such things never happened.

"Finally I know why Kahitna is so great with her love song throughout the generation, because God's gift for the kindness of the people there, not just because of the factors of the nine band members. From the manager to the stage crew, there was great love there that made Kahitna an extraordinary gift," concluded Yovie.
