This Brazilian Singer Separated From Label After Saying He Would Auction His Organs To End His Contract

JAKARTA - Brazil's pop star Anitta decided to end the collaboration with the Warner Music Group, following claims that she would "auction her organs" to terminate the contract.

Anitta announced the separation in a joint statement with Warner on April 4. He joined the company for more than a decade.

"After eleven years of successful partnerships, we agreed to separate," he said, quoted by NME, Thursday.

"Anitta wants to thank the Warner Music team for all their support. And the Warner team wishes Anitta the best in the future."

This news comes after singer Ai Papai took to Twitter last month, telling fans she would "auction her organs" in order to be removed from the partnership.

If there is a fine to pay, I will auction off my organs, no matter how expensive it is to come out. But unfortunately, nothing, "he wrote, warning his followers about the importance of legal documents.

"When you're young and still don't know much, you need to pay attention to the things you sign...if not, you can spend a lifetime paying for that mistake."

Anitta first signed a contract with WMG Brasil in 2013, and then signed a contract with Warner Music in the US in 2020. During that time, he released his multilanguage LP Versions Of Me, featuring his most successful song on the current airline.

The pop singer also complained about her relationship with Warner on Instagram last May. During live streaming, he accused the label of refusing to produce music videos when his accompaniment song failed to meet streaming expectations.

"They only invest after paying off on the internet," he said (via Stereogum). "Unfortunately, there are things I can't get, that's why I don't buy luxury cars, because when I want to do something, I pay for it."
