The inaugural event that gathered music lovers, music activists, and business people in the music industry titled IndieAF was successfully held by TuneCore on March 19.

IndieAF is packaged by TuneCore with a concept that combines music performances, workshops, and networks. This aims to bring Indonesian musicians to appear in international events.

TuneCore also introduced one of its newest features, Splits. Splits is a feature that allows TuneCore artists to share royalty payments from their streaming and download revenues between all collaborators on songs or albums.

Our goal at TuneCore is to make our artist's life easier so they can focus on making music. With SPLITS, the artist TuneCore can sometimes spend little time as an accountant and have more time to make good music, explained Andreea Gleeson, CEO of TuneCore in a written statement received by VOI editors.

After the workshop and press conference, IndieAF also continued with special performances from various artists. They performed several hits released on TuneCore.

The musicians include Bara Suara who brought Celebrating Fana, Kenny Gabriel with Grapevine, and High Therapy with Bend Down.

With the holding of this event, TuneCore hopes to help maximize career development of independent musicians.

"It's always fun for us (TuneCore) to be able to help artists and be part of their career development as well as provide education and communicate directly with these musicians," said Andi Arya Dwi Putra as the Country Coordinator of TuneCore Indonesia.

TuneCore also realized, in the current career stages of DIY musicians, they really need education about how the digital industry is running.

"Therefore, we hope that with this IndieAF, musicians will have a platform to obtain information as well as to develop their careers in a better direction," said Gian Hasemi as the TuneCore Ambassador of Indonesia.
