Hammersonic Presents Special Award For Eben Burgerkill

JAKARTA - The late guitarist for the hardcore metal band from Bandung Burgerkill, Aries Tanto, or familiarly called Eben, who died on September 3, 2021, received the Legend/Lifetime Achievement award at the Hammersonic Awards.

The award was delivered directly by the CEO of Ravel Entertainment as promoter of the Hammersonic Festival Ravel Donald Junardy which was received by the late Eben's wife, Anggi Pratiwi and guitarist Burgerkill Agung Hellfrog on the first day of the Hammersonic Festival 2023, Saturday (18/3).

"This award is for Aries Tanto Eben Burgerkill. A friend, friend, 'enemous' to me because every night he argues with him about all the bands or whatever. When he heard the news he died, I didn't really believe it. We just have to accept it. He was there and happy," said Ravel.

On this occasion, symbolically Ravel also pinned a historic vest belonging to the Hammersonic Festival which was only produced by 10 pieces to Anggi Pratiwi as a representative of the Eben Burgerkill family.

"Thank you very much Hammersonic for your appreciation and respect. Thank you all my friends, friends, and begundals who have continued to encourage us to this day. This is hard for us but hopefully we can all continue the spirit of the deceased," said Anggi.

Meanwhile, Burgerkill guitarist and Eben's closest friend, Agung Hellfrog, revealed that the figure of the deceased was a brother and mentor who gave meaning and dedication to music without knowing boundaries.

"When he has ideas or does something, Eben thinks not only for personal interests but also for the extreme music community that he loves so much," recalled Agung.

Agung further hopes that representing the band and the begundal aka Burgerill hardline fans, he can maintain Eben's spirit so far.

"Rest in peace, True Megabenz," said Agung.
