The Song Adu Rayu Played More Than 100 Million Times On Spotify, Yovie Widianto Grateful For His Work Loved By The Community

Musician Yovie Widianto said he was grateful because the songs he created were loved by the public since starting his career in the Indonesian music world to this day.

The tally results of Yovie and his team, the songs have received more than 1.4 billion listeners on Spotify. Adu Rayu, one of Yovie's creations performed by Tulus and the late Glenn Fredly, as of Monday got 103.6 million listeners on Spotify.

"It turns out that digitally it is calculated, Alhamdulillah, somehow the songs still get an extraordinary response. It's not because I'm the great one, but, indeed his work continues to be consistent and loved by the listeners," Yovie said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday.

Yovie revealed that he did not expect to compose songs that were then loved by the community. He was also grateful to be able to get a lot of musical experience since the 80s.

"For me, I am very grateful because my music was born in the first generation of cassettes. Then there was also an explosion in the CD era. Then I thought it was finished there," said Yovie.

Yovie, 55, continues to follow the development of the music industry, including when listening to music turns to digital platforms. He also released his works on various platforms including Spotify.

Yovie is grateful that he is still active in the music world to this day and collaborates with young singers including his son Arsy Widianto, Lyodra Ginting, Tiara Andini and Ziva Magnolya.

"I never thought that I could make music, for Arsy too. Then for the next singers such as Lyodra, Tiara and Ziva. So, I am very grateful and very happy to be able to make music to this day," said Yovie.

Yovie Widianto has been in the world of music for about 40 years. In the 1990s, he won the award as the best music composer at an event in Taipei. He also won The Best Composer at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards in South Korea.
