JAKARTA - Rapper Costa Titch died after collapsing on the Ultra Festival stage. The South African musician is 28 years old.

Costa Titch is performing at the Nasrec Expo Center Johannesburg as part of the Ultra Festival when he was reported to have fainted on stage. His family confirmed that he died shortly thereafter.

"With deep pain we found ourselves having to admit his current departure," they wrote on Instagram as quoted by NME, Monday.

"Deaths have tragically knocked on our door to seize our beloved son, brother and grandson Constantinos Tsobanoglou who has been loved and idolized by South Africa under the stage name Costa Titch," the statement read.

The Ultra Music Festival took place in Johannesburg on March 11 yesterday and featured Adam Beyer, Alesso, Fisher, totaling, and Oliver Heldens.

Costa Titch started his career as a background dancer before transitioning to rapper. He recently partnered with Akon's record label, Konvict Culture. Akon also appeared on the remix of Costa Titch's song Big Flexa.
