JAKARTA - Dangdut singer Rhoma Irama with her music group Sonnet Group became a surprise appearance at the Deep Purple concert which was held in Solo, Central Java, Friday, March 10.

Rhoma Irama began appearing on stage held at the UMS EduTORium at around 19.00 WIB. When he became one of the opening stars at the Deep Purple concert, the King of Dangdut, among others, performed the song Gali Lobang Tutup Lobang, Fitnah and Hari Berbang.

Rhoma Irama's appearance was able to amaze hundreds of viewers who came to see Deep Purple's performance. Apart from Rhoma, the legendary band in the country of Godbless is also the opening band for Deep Purple's performance in Solo.

Deep Purple from Great Britain appeared with complete personnel, namely Ian Gillan (vocals), Roger Glover (bass), Ian Paice (drums), Don Airey (keyboards), and Simon Mobride (guitar).

The performances of the two bands, Deep Purple and Godbless, on one stage, are not the first time. The two of them had a concert at Senayan Stadium, Jakarta in 1975. Similar to today, Godbless is lined up to be the opening band Deep Purple.

One of Deep Purple personnel, Ian Gillan, during a press conference in Solo, Thursday, March 9, said he was very happy to be back performing with Godbless.

"Amazing, to be able to meet them (Godbless) again here," said Gillan as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 11.
