JAKARTA - Once Mekel took eight years to create his third album, Sigma. Admittedly, the former vocalist of Dewa 19, being busy outside of solo project matters is the main reason.

"Indeed, I've been busy dealing with other musicians' albums too, because I'm working with Jagonya Music & Sports Indonesia, therefore I take care of many other musicians who want to release albums at KFC," said Once at a press conference for the launch of the Sigma album in Jakarta, Tuesday.

Once added that this album was inspired by the freedom of indie musicians' current work.

"Indeed, at this time it was indie music, which gave us the freedom of the creative process, album release, to showcase, so we were inspired by that, so I had time to think about the right date and the right moment to release the album," said Once.

In addition, Once also gave reasons for himself to take a long time to make a character album.

"I feel that people nowadays listen to albums are rare. From there I took more into account. Moreover, in my opinion, it took a long time for a good and character album. I usually have to make sure when releasing an album, don't let anyone already play something like this," concluded Once.

For information, Sigma is a follow-up to the Intrinsic album which was released in 2015. This album can be obtained at all KFC outlets throughout Indonesia.

As for the digital platform, Sigma is also available starting today, Tuesday, February 21.
