JAKARTA - The vocalist of the band Gigi, Armand Maulana, said that the chaos of access after the Dewa 19 concert disbanded on Saturday, February 4 at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) was a complex thing.

"It's not only JIS' fault in my opinion, but also infrastructure and regulatory errors as a whole. So, it's complex," said Armand when met by Antara in Jakarta, Monday.

Previously, the legendary band concert titled People's Party 30 Years Berkarya Dewa 19 with tens of thousands of spectators or above 70 thousand spectators was successfully held at the largest stadium in Southeast Asia, JIS.

However, there was a traffic jam after the dispersal of the concert because thousands of people were trapped in the JIS area in a matter of hours due to motorbikes, cars, shuttle buses, to pedestrians who collided into one on a narrow road.

The man with Sundanese and Banten blood said that the location of JIS which is located in a residential area with narrow road access is not a problem, but integration of public transportation and support from local governments is also needed.

The husband of actress Dewi Gita gave an example of several similar stadiums abroad such as Emirates Stadium owned by football club Arsenal and Stamford Bridge owned by Chelsea football club which are also located in residential areas.

Armand said the two stadiums had a capacity of up to 60 thousand spectators even though on narrow roads they were able to unravel the audience because they were integrated with many public transportation doors.

"And the regulations there, when there is a big show, the MRT will be free so that people choose to use public transportation," he added.

"Those like this cannot directly blame one party," Armand added.

He hopes that in the future all organizers of major events, especially music concerts, will be able to think much more creatively in dealing with outflows and crowd entry.

"If, for example, the place is not easily accessible, yes, he must make it, how can it be accessed properly, whether it is in a residential area or whatever," explained Armand.

Even so, Armand appreciated Dewa 19, his colleagues in the music industry have succeeded in holding a grand concert with tens of thousands of spectators present.

"It's really good, it's only natural that the 19-band Gods of the 90s who still exist gather up to tens of thousands of spectators and Dewa is indeed a band that has sold millions of copies of albums," he said.
