Ozzy Osbourne Sabet 'Best Metal Performance' And 'Best Rock Album At The 2023 Grammy Award

JAKARTA - Ozzy Osbourne was awarded a Grammy in the 'Best Metal Perfomance' category at the pre-broadcast ceremony at the 65th Grammy Awards, which was held Sunday, February 5 evening at the Crypto.com Arena (formerly Staples Center) in Los Angeles, California.

Ozzy was nominated for the Degradation Rules, a song from the 2022 album, Patient Number 9.

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame recipients, who canceled entire European tours due to health problems in recent years, previously won three Grammy Awards and received eight nominations.

Prince Of Depth, nicknamed Ozzy, was also awarded the "Best Rock Album" category for the album Patient Number 9.

In 1993, Ozzy won a solo Grammy Award for "Best Metal Performance" for I Don't Want To Change The World and two Grammys as members of Black Sabbath for "Best Metal Performance" in 2000 for Iron Man, and in 2013 for Best Metal Performance for God Is Dead? from album 13.

The feasibility period for the 65th annual Grammy Award is October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022.

Nominations for all 91 categories were announced last November during a live stream from the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. The show was broadcast on Grammy.com and on the Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok Academy channels.

In the event, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. joined the 12-time Grammy winner, John Legend, multiplatinum record artist Machine Gun Kelly, three-time Grammy winner Olivia Rodrigo and recipient of the "Person Of The Year" MusiCares 2023 Smokey Robinson award in announcing the 2023 Grammy nomination.

Among the new categories changes this year, one of which is that the album must contain more than 75 percent of the newly recorded music playback time in order to qualify for the Grammys; the previous feasibility rule is 50 percent.
