JAKARTA - Glenn Hughes, former Deep Purple bassist and vocalist, known to millions of people as "Voice Of Rock", and recipient of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame award, announced his first solo show in 2023 in May which will take place in Portugal and Spain.

"Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live - Celebrating The 50th Anniversary Of The Album Burn", the title of this tour, will present Hughes presenting all the material from the legendary rock album Deep Purple, Burn. Not only that, he will also play Deep Purple MKII and MKIV songs.

Hughes spent important years in his career as bassist and vocalist of Deep Purple, appearing on the classic album Burn, Stormbringer, and Come Hate The Band.

In his tour concert this time, Hughes will be accompanied by S wayren Andersen (guitar), Ash Sheehan (drums), and Bob Fridzema (keyboards).

"Fifty years ago, in the summer of 1973, Deep Purple's Burn album was written at Clearwell's castle at The Forrest of Dean, Gloucestershire. The album was recorded in October 1973 at Montreux, Switzerland," Hughes said of the creative process of the Burn album.

"We are all together in the centuries-old castle in rural England, it feels like Deep Purple is a new band, with David [Coverdale, vocals] and me as a new member, we can't wait to get started working on new songs. The atmosphere is pungent, in an amazing environment."

"All the songs on Burn's album were written in the basement, under the big hall. We do new songs every day, and we follow the flow. Musically we will play, and compose ideas, and David and I will come with vocal melodies that will have lyrics, I remember them like yesterday.

"As you can imagine, lah Blackmore [guitar] in full prank mode, Jon [Y, keyboard] has warned me, and he pinned my room one night with a hidden speaker, and the sound of a ghost was sent to the side of my bed.

"The main song is the last song written. We came back from the pub, and went down to the basement, and a miracle happened."

Hughes added: "It's time to celebrate Burn, and I'm looking forward to seeing you guys."
