Powerslaves Continue The Old Work Rescue Mission By Rereleased The Leave Song

JAKARTA - The mission to save old works into digital format is again echoed by Powerslaves. Not just a slogan, the rock legend from Semarang who is fronted by Heydi Ibrahim (vocals), Anwar Fatahillah (bass), Wiwiex Soedarno (keyboards), and Agung Yudha (drums) released a new version of the song Leave on January 15 yesterday.

The original version of the song Leave is on Powerslaves' second album, Metal Kartun, which was released in 1996. Again, it tells the love story of a musician with his ambitious partner and works for seven days a week. There wasn't a single day left for the musician.

The idea for this song comes after seeing the busyness of people working in the office every day, leaving early in the morning and coming home at midnight. While we (musicians) can have coffee until the morning. That's why the lyrics sound; Pried coffee this morning, Wiwiex Soedarno, the songwriter, revealed the inspiration behind the creation of the rest.

The keyboardist continued, the original writing process for the song Leave began when he was sitting on the back terrace of the rented house, carrying an acoustic guitar and accompanied by a cup of coffee.

"Start playing the chord G...C...D... over and over again while trying. And after finding a good tone, read the first sentence in that tone. Pried coffee this morning... happy beautiful day I finally finished the basic process while doodleing on a piece of paper," recalls Wiwiex Soedarno.

"Unfortunately the paper went where it went when we all moved out of the rented house in Bintaro Jaya," he continued.

In a soundcheck session in one of the cities as Powerslaves toured their first album, Metal Kecil (1995), Gumilang Ramadhan - the producer and manager of Powerslaves at the time - asked about the availability of a new song for their second album. Without waiting long, Wiwiex pressed his keyboard keys and played the song based on the early notations he got while sitting on the terrace of the rented house earlier.

Not useless, it was this song that was finally chosen by the record label Warner Music Indonesia as the single champion of the Metal Kartun album.

Meanwhile, for a new version entitled Remastered, the arrangement has not experienced a significant overhaul other than being slightly changed to a live version. Meanwhile, in terms of sound, it remains adjusted to the times.

This song is nice to listen to anywhere. In the car while walking, via cell phone while hanging out with friends, live in a cafe or big stage.
