JAKARTA - The country's rock legend, God Bless released a new single titled Semesta on December 16 yesterday. This is a follow-up to the previous two singles, For My Indonesia (2020) and Starting Today (2021) as the opening to a new album released next year.

Unlike the theme of previous songs that often raised social, environmental, humanism or friendship themes, the theme of the Universe is an expression of gratitude for the long journey that God Bless has gone through.

"That life is a very short space time that must be filled with everything that is useful. In simple phrases, the Universe contains the essence of the struggle of musicians who have been and are currently in the vortex of God Bless's career," the band said in a statement.

This is a joint work of Ian Antono and Fajar Satritama, as well as Ali Akbar as the lyricists. The universe is also the first step towards celebrating the 50th anniversary of God Bless in 2023.

Through this single, for the first time, God Bless ventured into the world of web3 by launching his first FMA (Factional Music Asset), collaborating with Netra, the first music FMA royalty-sharing platform to take advantage of blockchain technology in Asia.

FMA technology allows Indonesian and international musicians to offer ownership and royalties on their musical works in the form of digital assets to their fans.

Later the owner of the FMA single Semesta will also receive royalties, because Netra also offers a royalty sharing system or listen-to-earn, where FMA owners will be paid whenever someone listens to the song.

"FMA is a contemporary musical format that is very challenging," said Fajar Satritama at a press conference on the release of the Universe's single which was held at Melodia Pondok Indah, Jakarta, Friday.
