Police Disbandment of Music Concert at Istora GBK: Visitors Twice Exceeded Building Capacity

JAKARTA - The music concert with the theme 'Berdendang Bergoyang' at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno Senayan, Jakarta had to be disbanded by the Central Jakarta Metro Police on Saturday, October 29, night.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Komarudin, explained that the music concert event was stopped and disbanded because the audience capacity exceeded the rules.

"It's already overloaded or over capacity, that's why we stop it", said Commissioner Komarudin when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, October 30, morning.

Commissioner Komarudin said the number of visitors to the event touched more than 21,000 viewers. While the capacity of Istora Senayan itself can only accommodate around 10,000 spectators.

"Istora has a maximum of 10,000 people, but according to our observations, there are more than 21,000 spectators, so we are forced to stop its activities", he said.

Regarding visitors who exceed the rules, the Central Jakarta Metro Police also summoned the EO of the event who was considered to have violated the rules.

Commissioner Komarudin explained that at this time the EO party was still undergoing further investigations regarding the booming audience at the event.

"Currently, our EO is asking for information", he explained.
