Trio Lestari Gandeng David Bayu At The Solo Concert, Tompi: Not Replace Glenn Fredly!

JAKARTA - Trio Lestari will hold its inaugural concert at Bengkel Space on Thursday, September 22. They invited several musicians, one of whom was David Bayu.

"This will be Trio Lestari's comeback with a fresh concept, so we invite fellow musicians to get involved," said Tompi on Monday, September 19.

Tompi refused to explain the reason he chose David Bayu to appear with Trio Lestari. However, he emphasized that David was not here to replace the late Glenn Fredly.

The concept is that Trio Lestari will appear with a special guest so it is not a replacement for Glenn. It is difficult for Nyari to replace Glenn," explained Tompi.

"But why David? The 22nd will be answered," he continued.

David Bayu admitted that the invitation to a duet with Trio Lestari had been around for a long time. However, his busy life with Naif at that time prevented him.

David himself explained that he really enjoyed chatting with Tompi. But he was only able to agree to Tompi's invitation when the solo concert arrived.

"The Pramban Jazz was the first time he invited me but I went abroad with my family. Now it's the 22nd," said David Bayu.

Trio Lestari is not just the concept of music. Glenn contributes the concept of talking about issues because we want to invite people to think and sing," said Tompi.

Speaking of vocal color, David Bayu said it had become a doubt to appear with Trio Lestari. Tompi also dismissed and called the difference in the vocal character needed.
