JAKARTA - Jay-Z believes that he will not retire from music. It's been five years since fans haven't heard of his latest release, so not a few consider Jay-Z retiring.

To Kevin Hart, Beyonce's husband raised his voice about the news. He confirmed that he had not worked in the studio for a long time.

"I don't know what will happen next. I'm not actively making music or albums and I have no plans to make an album," Jay-Z told Kevin Hart in the latest episode of the comedian's broadcast.

“But I would never say I'm retiring… it's a gift (talent) and who am I to end it? I am very open to opportunities,” he explained.

Jay-Z last released an album titled 4:44 in 2017. A year later, he released a collaboration album with his wife titled Everything Is Love. The two even had time to do the On the Run II tour.

“Maybe the interpretation will be different. Maybe later I will not release an album. Possible. I don't know," Jay-Z said.

In 2003, Jay-Z announced his retirement with a party at Madison Square Garden. He ended his retirement by releasing the album Kingdom Come in 2006.

“I was very tired at that time. I release albums every year and soundtracks, other people's albums, Roc-A-Fella, tours, and one day I thought I was tired. I haven't had a vacation since 2000," he recalled at the time.

Jay-Z isn't completely unemployed. Now, he focuses on managing the Roc Nation company which he has managed since 2008. On the other hand, his wife Beyonce is productive in music and is ready to release a new album entitled Renaissance.
