JAKARTA - The popularity of electric motorcycles has soared in India and neighboring countries. TVS, one of India's largest and most popular motorcycle manufacturers, through its subsidiary engaged in racing, TVS Racing, has just announced the launch of India's first electric motorcycle racing series.

This TVS initiative will be called TVS Racing Electric One Make Championship, or e-OMC. This racing series will center on a new electric motorcycle platform developed by TVS specifically for its racing series.

While the motorbikes that will take part in this competition are Apache RTE, all of these electric sports motorcycles will be designed with the same specifications, so the victory only depends on racer expertise.

TVS has not disclosed its power, but only states that the motor is powered by a liquid-cooled electric motor with a liquid-cooled controller. In addition, the battery pack is made of "high power."

Reporting from Rideapart, September 21, from the circulating photo, it appears that the motorbike is equipped with suspensions of galins, large Brembo brakes that are installed radially, and Pirelli Corsa tires. The fairing is also made entirely of carbon fiber.

TVS e-OMC will only make its debut during the fourth round of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC). The race is scheduled to start on September 29, 2023, and eight riders selected by TVS will compete for the title.

TVS Motor has been a pioneer in racing since we started the first factory racing team in India. TVS Racing has played an important role in making motorsport something that is coveted but can be accessed by fans across the country. Many of the technologies that we have pioneered in our racing machines have been used in our production vehicles, providing a form of philosophy from crossings to roads, said Sudarshan Venu, President Director of TVS Motor Company, quoted from Autocarpro India, September 21.
