Hyundai Officially Brings Ioniq 6 To Malaysia Market, Next To Indonesia?

JAKARTA - A South Korean manufacturer, Hyundai, has started presenting Ioniq 6 in various Southeast Asian countries. After launching the electric sedan in the Philippines, Hyundai Ioniq 6 officially greeted the Malaysian automotive market.

Shown at the EVx 2023 electric vehicle exhibition, Hyundai presented Ioniq 6 in two variants in Malaysia, namely Max RWD and Max AWD. The rival from Tesla Model 3 has a number of interesting things.

Reporting on the pultan page, Jum'at, July 21, Ioniq 6 has dimensions with a length of 4,855 mm, a width of 1,880 mm, a height of 1,495 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. With this size, Ioniq 6 offers relief to its users.

The Max RWD variant will be equipped with 18-inch rims covered in 225/55R18 tires. Meanwhile, Max AWD's version has a 20-inch rim with a 245/40R20 tire.

Talking about the runway, the two Ioniq 6 variants have their own advantages. For Max RWD, equipped with a single electric motor that drives the rear wheels which produces 225 dk of power and 350 Nm of torque. With this electric motor, this variant can go from 0 to 100 km/hour within 7.4 seconds.

Meanwhile, the Max AWD variant has a double electric motor driving all wheels that can produce a combined power of up to 320 dk and a 605 Nm torque capable of recording high performance from 0 to 100 km/hour within 5.1 seconds.

Although these two variants are both equipped with a lithium-ion polymer 77.4 kWh battery, the resulting cruising power is quite different. The Max RWD variant produces a distance of up to 614 km in one charge. Meanwhile, the Max AWD variant can cover a distance of up to 519 km.

Based on Hyundai's E-GMP platform, the architecture has voltages of up to 800V so that Ioniq 6 has charging capability from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes with DC 350 kW fast-charging.

Ioniq 6 is the fifth electric vehicle to use a 800V voltage platform, after Porsche Taycan, Audi e-tron GT, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6.

For the neighboring country market, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 variant of the Max RWD is priced at 289,888 Malaysian ringgit or around Rp956.1 million. Then, for the Max AWD version, it is valued at 319,888 Malaysian ringgit or equivalent to Rp1 billion.

With the launch of Ioniq 6 in the Malaysian market, this signals that the electric sedan is getting closer to its sales to the Indonesian market.

What's more, Hyundai has registered the sedan on the Motor Vehicle Selling Value (NKJB) website of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Regional Revenue Agency.

According to the NKJB website, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV 4X4 AT has a value of around IDR 696 million. This price is more affordable than the SUV's brother, Ioniq 5, which sells for IDR 748 million.

Keep in mind that the prices listed on the NKJB website do not cover all sales taxes such as BBNKB, PPh, VAT, and others. So that the actual price may be different when this car is marketed in Indonesia.

Although it has not provided complete information, PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) promises an interesting surprise regarding the products to be presented later.
