Ahead Of The Launch, Volvo Leaked A Little EX30

JAKARTA - Ahead of the launch of EX30 on June 7, Volvo gave a little leak regarding the specifications of the new SUV model.

According to Anders Nyth, as the Brand Sustainability Manager of Volvo Cars, EX30 will be offered two variants of 51 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate and 69 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese batteries with a maximum distance option of 480 km.

"Of course, the driveline has an impact on car efficiency, so there is a rear version and a driving version of all wheels. For rear wheels to drive, it will use an NMC battery which is a long-range type," Nyth said as quoted by Autocar, Wednesday, May 24.

With a fairly long distance, the smallest SUV in the Swedish car brand lineup will be positioned below the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge.

Volvo also claims EX30 will be the most environmentally friendly vehicle Volvo has ever produced by leaving its lowest carbon footprint.

In addition, there is a door opening alert feature that becomes the standard device at Volvo EX30. Technology features that are embedded to provide protection when traveling in a dense environment.

The EX30 Volvo has a small and compact dimension. And when it launches, the EX30 will indirectly compete with Honda's compact electric SUV, e:Ny1 which is the electric version of the HR-V.

Honda e:Ny1 has a lithium-ion 68.8 kWh battery that has an impressive capability of up to 412 km according to the WLTP cycle.

Volvo EX30 will debut globally on June 7, and will become available for direct or pre-order orders in certain areas.
