JAKARTA - The latest news comes from Zuffenhausen, Germany, to be precise at one of the leading automotive manufacturers, Porsche, which is developing new battery cells for the next hypercar line.

According to Michael Steiner, as the Porsche Head of Research and Development, this technology will take several years to be ready to be implanted into one of Porsche's upcoming models.

"We are developing our own (next-generation batteries) cells. With our subsidiary, Cellforce Group, we have samples in the same size cells we use for Taycan. So this is not research, this is real," Steiner said as quoted by Motor Trend, Wednesday, April 5.

"So I thought about it (a hypercar car), we thought about it, but we needed some additional improvements in terms of technology and a reasonable point of view," Steiner added.

Although Porsche had previously said it would soon prepare a successor to 918 Spyder for 2025, Steiner said that it had not yet started developing its car.
