Seagull, Electric Hatchback With Affordable Budget

JAKARTA - Production of electric cars is being intense in China. Some time ago, BYD released its latest electric-powered hatchback, Seagull.

Although it is reported that it is still in the homologation process, this car will be exhibited at an automotive exhibition in China, the Shanghai Auto Show on April 18.

Quoted from the Paultan.org page, this car has a fairly small size for its class, namely 3,780 mm long, 1,715 mm wide, 1,540 mm high, and 2,500 mm wheelbase.

Having a capacity of four passengers accompanied by 5-doors, this car is more suitable for urban areas, especially urban areas that are densely populated on the Asian continent. And also, Seagull has a cute but futuristic design.

For specifications, BYD Seagull is driven by one electric motor that has an energy of between 74 and 94 dk. The Seagull model also has two battery options, namely 30 kWh and 38 kWh.

Seagull will be the first BYD car to use its own battery, namely sodium-ion which is claimed to cover a distance of 305 km in one charge. However, the Chinese manufacturer is also rumored to be providing a lithium-ion battery option that has a cruising range of 400 km.

The electric hatchback will also be based on BYD's 3.0 platform. For prices, BYD is expected to set the price of Seagull from 80,000 Yuan to 100,000 Yuan (a range of IDR 173.9 million to IDR 217.4 million).
