JAKARTA - Car manufacturer from the United States, Ford said it would introduce the latest electric van under the name E-Transit Courier on April 6, as reported by Autocar, Monday, April 3, 2023.

Among the nine EV lineup models announced by Ford, the Courier E-Transit is the only van that hasn't been shown yet. The electric van will arrive in 2024.

Courier's electric entry-level version will follow the Custom E-Transit size, as well as the standard version. Ford first brought electric E-Transit to market in 2021 with standard and full-body configurations.

The Custom E-Transit will arrive at the market in the near future. The Courier E-Transit with a smaller size is likely to use the Ford-produced B2E platform. With this platform, the car can be adapted for gas and electric powertrains.

It has not been confirmed when the official announcement will be made, but it is likely that it will be close to the Puma EV which will also be marketed in 2024.

Rumors circulated that the van would have a lower load capacity when compared to the combustion engine model. This is because this van is planted with a battery with a heavy weight.

Not only that, both large and moderate van E-Transit will experience a decrease in capacity compared to the gasoline-powered model.
