JAKARTA - In a few days, Mother's Day will be commemorated in Indonesia, namely on December 22, 2024. This year is the 96th commemoration of Mother's Day. Quoting from the official website of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (Kemen PPPA), Mother's Day 2024 carries the theme Women Greet, Women Empowered, Towards Golden Indonesia 2045. This theme contains the meaning of the importance of women in realizing the nation's future. In this case, women have equal access to education, occupation, health, and politics to build an Indonesia more advanced, inclusive, and global competitive. The theme is also expected not only to be a call for, but also to inspire that equal and full participation of the whole community, including women, is the key to the welfare of a nation. Equality for women must be accepted and felt evenly by all Indonesian women.Regarding the 2024 Mother's Day logo, the Ministry of PPPA released a logo consisting of 96 red numbers. At that number, there is an image of the set of jasmine flowers, as well as the writing Merdeka Melaks Dharma.The meaning of the Melati-Kuntum flower arrangement is a symbol of the love of Bahi between mothers and children, strengths, and women's sacrifice in the nation's development. Number 96 as a sign of the struggle of Indonesian women since the first Women's Congress in 1928.
