World's Most Expensive Gold Layered Christmas Tree Worth IDR 84 Billion

JAKARTA - The Christmas tree is usually synonymous with simple beauty, but an extraordinary work from Germany has succeeded in changing this perception. Pro Aurum, a well-known gold trader company, created a gold-plated Christmas tree.

Pro Aurum created one of the most expensive Christmas trees in the world. This Christmas tree is made of gold bullion specimens worth USD 5.5 million or IDR 87 billion. This Christmas tree is expensive, because it is made with gold bullion.

"This golden Christmas tree clearly shows the eternal meaning of precious metals in an impressive way," Benjamin Summa, spokesperson for Pro Aurum told NewsX, quoted by VOI from the NY Post page on Monday, December 9, 2024.

The about three meter tall tree was exhibited at the headquarters of Pro Aurum in Munich for several days as a form of celebration of the company's 35th anniversary.

This gold tree was made in collaboration with Austrian State Mint and decorated with 2,024 Vienna gold coins Philharmonic, one of the world's best-selling collection coins.

Instead of using the star at its peak, this tree is decorated with 24-carat jumbo coins. This is to add to the touch of economy.

This spectacular decoration is considered a symbol of the golden eternal value that is always bright in the world of investment. However, Pro Aurum insists that this tree is not sold, only as a tribute to the irreversibility of gold value.

Although extraordinary, this golden Christmas tree is not the most expensive. The record is held by a tree worth USD 11 million or IDR 174 billion on display at the Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi, in 2010.

The 13 meter tall tree is decorated with 181 jewelry and is listed in Guinness World Records as the most expensive Christmas tree in the world.
