Had Problems While Helping TKI, Uya Kuya And His Wife Managed The Same Name

JAKARTA - Uya Kuya and his wife, Astrid Kuya, visited the South Jakarta District Court (PN) today, Monday, May 29. The presenter, who began exploring the world of politics, said that if his presence was not due to serious legal issues, he only took care of the name equality he had proposed since a month ago.

"There are no cases, just civil, explaining that my name, Surya Utama is the same as Uya Kuya," he said when met at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday, May 29.

Uya explained that the application for the name equation was made because he had problems dealing with several parties, especially when he helped repatriate migrant workers from abroad.

"I still take care of Indonesian citizens who are abroad, but people there know how Uya Kuya and Surya Utama have different documents," said Uya.

Uya said, at home there are not many who have a problem with differences in the real name with the stage name. However, different things happen when dealing with people from abroad, who incidentally do not know him at all.

Not alone, Uya also invited his wife to take care of the name equation. The wife, whose real name is Astrid Margaretha, takes care of the name equation with the stage name that is usually used, Astrid Kuya.

When asked further, he did not deny that one of the reasons for his request was related to his planned involvement in the upcoming 2024 elections.

"One of them is also there to go to the DPR RI and DPRD. I'm running for the DPR RI, Astrid in the DPRD," he said.

Furthermore, the father of two explained that what he was doing did did not mean changing his name from Surya Utama to Uya Kuya, but to find legality which stated that Surya Utama was the same person as Uya Kuya.

"If the name changes, everything must change, starting from diplomas, ID cards, to others. We don't want to. Just confirm, just the same name," said Uya Kuya.
