JAKARTA - Hati Suhita, directed by Starvision production houses, will hit theaters throughout Indonesia starting May 25, 2023. This film also stars several other actors such as Slamet Rahardjo, Tanta Ginting, Ibrahim Risyad, Wafda Saifan, Widyawati, and Devina Aureel.

This romantic drama film is adapted from a novel by Khilma Anis with the theme of matchmaking stories in Islamic boarding schools and the dynamics of household life as a result of matchmaking due to the will of parents.

The film, directed by Archie Hegemary, tells the story of the son of the founder of one of the Islamic boarding schools in Kediri, East Java, named Gus Birru, played by Omar Daniel, who was paired with a student named Alina Suhita, played by Nadya Arina.

"Obviously this novel is very clear narrates women very well but also does not mean cornering men here, because Gus Birru has his own reasons why he doesn't want to touch Alina as his wife," said Producer Chand Parwez Servia, quoted from ANTARA, Wednesday, May 17.

This film tells the story of the matchmaking planned by Gus Birru's parents, Abah (David Chalik) and Ummi (Desy Ratnasari). They think that Alina is the ideal son-in-law thanks to her intelligence and teaching skills.

Therefore, Alina is trusted to continue the pesantren they founded because Gus Birru is more interested in running the cafe business than managing pesantren.

Out of compassion and as a form of service, Gus Birru was forced to accept the match and marry Alina. However, on the night of the wedding, Gus Birru confessed to Alina that the marriage took place only because of the will of his parents.

Gus Birru himself still has feelings for his ex-girlfriend, Ratna Rengganis (Anggika Bolsterli), considering that their relationship had to end because of their matchmaking with Alina.
