Becoming Kiai's Son In The Bidadari Series With Bening Eyes, Ari Irham Learns To Study Murotal

JAKARTA - Ari Irham plays the character Gus Afif, the figure of the eldest son of a smart, wise, charismatic kiai and memorizer of the Koran in the series Bidadari With Bening. The series, which consists of 10 episodes, will air from March 31, 2023, every Friday and Saturday at Viu.

Gus Afif's character often replaces Kiai Sobron (played by Ikang Fauzi), his father who is also the leader of the Kanzul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, in filling the material of the taklim assembly. To explore his role, Ari tries to apply what Gus Afif's character does in his personal life, also find out about the lives of pesantren and activities carried out by students and female students there.

"And of course we are given time with the production team for the Koran workshop and other knowledge," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 29.

Speaking of characters, Ari admitted that Gus Afif was quite different from his personality and this was a challenge he faced. "Because it's quite far from me personally, I feel a lot of challenges faced such as silat, recitation with murals, da'wah and being a kiai child," said Ari.

Bidadari With Bening eyes directed by Farid Darmawan is adapted from a national best-selling novel by writer Habiburahman El Shirazy. This series tells the life journey of a girl named Ayna (played by Zoe Abbas Jackson) when she has to choose love.

Losing a mother at a young age makes Ayna really understand the meaning of loss. When there are three men who try to knock on his heart, he has a great opportunity to find happiness if he can choose the right person.

Apart from Ari Irham and Zoe Abbas Jackson, the series also stars Vladimir Rama, Boah Sartika, Fatih Unru, Zenia Zein, Aisyah Aqilah, Amara Sophie, Andi Viola, Nadira Sungkar, Aulia Deas, Teuku Ryan, Ikang Fauzi and Olla Ramlan.
