JAKARTA - Ferry Irawan has been in detention for two months due to alleged acts of domestic violence (KDRT) against Venna Melinda. On Monday, March 27 yesterday, the 46-year-old man also underwent his first trial.

Jeffry Simatupang as Ferry Irawan's attorney objected when his client was charged with two articles, namely article 44 and article 45 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence. For him, the prosecutor's indictment did not meet the formal and material requirements because it was contrary to the results of the post-mortem.

"We immediately filed an exception. This means that for us, the prosecutor's indictment still does not meet the formal and material requirements. Why? The first one, since the beginning the post-mortem results have tended to 44 paragraph 4. Why is 44 paragraph 1 still appearing until today," said Jeffry Simatupang, Ferry Irawan's attorney when contacted by the media crew on Monday, March 27 evening.

The attorney considered that the alleged acts of domestic violence in South Jakarta and Paso should not be involved in court. This is because the case does not cover the scope of the Kediri court.

"It is very clear in the prosecutor's indictment that there are allegations of criminal acts that occurred in the mansion and Paso's house in South Jakarta. That is not the scope of the Kediri court," said Jeffry.

"Why should it be included, that's why we filed an exception to cancel the indictment. That's why we hope that Mr. Ferry will be released based on our exception," he continued.

Jefry further said that his client complained about the death of conscience because of the indictment that was deemed inappropriate. Ferry also confirmed that he would prove in court that he had not committed any allegations of domestic violence. In fact, Ferry feels he is a victim of a system.

"Pak Ferry stated earlier that he had even given a statement to a media friend, Mr. Ferry stated that the first time he conveyed innalilahi wainnailaihi Raji'un, because his conscience had died," said Jeffry Simatupang.

"Secondly, Ferry said that Ferry would prove that Ferry had never made any allegations of domestic violence, that Ferry was currently a victim of the system. It's like being forced to arrest Mr. Ferry," he said.
