Vice President Ma'ruf Amin's Impression After Watching Buya Hamka Film With The Cast

JAKARTA - Vice President (wapres) Ma'ruf Amin was present at the screening of Buya Hamka film at a cinema in Epicentrum, South Jakarta today, Tuesday, March 21, 2023 afternoon.

Together with the Vice President, Wury Estu Handayani, Ma'ruf was one of the first people to watch the film directed by Fajar Bustomi and produced by Falcon Pictures with Starvision. Several Buya Hamka actors, including Vino G Bastian, Anjasmara, Donny Kesuma and Donny Damara also watched together with the vice president.

After the broadcast, Ma'ruf told the media crew that he was grateful to be able to watch Buya Hamka's first episode of the three episodes planned to be broadcast.

"I'm grateful to be able to see the results, and this is only one episode, the plan is three episodes," said Ma'ruf Amin.

The 13th Vice President of Indonesia also praised the storylines displayed, and the selection of each actor for the characters played.

"The storyline and the players are very good and can describe, inspire us all about making this film," he said.

The oldest Indonesian vice president when inaugurated also shared his views on the figure of Buya Hamka. He assessed that the first Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) was a good role model, not only as a scholar, but also a nation's fighter and writer who had written many books.

Ma'ruf also talked about his relationship with the making of the film Buya Hamka. When he was still the General Chair of the MUI for the 2015-2020 period, he had discussions with the production team regarding the plan to make the film.

"Incidentally, the talks about making this film, when I was the General Chair of the MUI, often discussed the plan to make this film in 2015. I am still the Chairman of the MUI and thank God it has been completed," said Ma'ruf Amin.

With what he has seen, Ma'ruf encourages the Indonesian people to watch Buya Hamka films. Especially for young people, he assesses that the film can be an example and also an inspiration.

"My advice is so that people watch this film, because there are many things that can be used as role models and inspire us all. Young people, especially, watch, how a Hamka has struggled since he was young," he concluded.
