JAKARTA - The involvement of RD (15), Lilis Karlina's son in the crime of abuse of narcotics, attracted public attention. Many of the netizens assumed that the child suspect who was still in grade 2 of junior high school was a drug dealer.

Purwakarta Police Chief AKBP Edwar Zulkarnain tried to provide an explanation for the existing misunderstanding, where the son of the 48-year-old dancer was said to be involved as a narcotics dealer.

"So, if he is a user of narcotics, he is not a narcotics dealer," said Edwar Zulkarnain in a virtual press conference on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

Edwar explained that what RD circulated was the preparation of a pharmaceutical without a distribution permit, and not narcotics. Therefore, RD is imposed only by the Health Law.

"For the time being, the basis for the detention of children is that we apply Article 196 in Law No. 36 of 2009 concerning health. So we use this child as a dealer, sell pharmaceutical preparations without distribution permits," said Edwar.

In the process of arresting RD on Sunday, March 12, 2023 yesterday, Edwar revealed that hundreds of drugs were found without distribution permits.

"When we made the arrest at the suspect's house, coincidentally in the hands of the suspect, we managed to find 925 Hexymer pills, then 740 Tramadol pills and then 200 Trihexyphenidyl pills," he said.

Edwar explained that from the statement of the child suspect, since he was 13 years old he had consumed drugs, which then continued to be a drug dealer at the age of 14. Until his arrest, RD was still actively trading these drugs.

As a result of his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 196 of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 36 of 2009 concerning Health.
